About Us
About PCYBA.
Philippine Centre Youth Basketball Academy (PCYBA) was established in January 2008. It is a youth project by a registered charity organisation called The Philippine Centre and it is aimed at boys and girls ages between 7-16 years old. The activities involves a weekly basketball coaching session by a qualified EB Level 2 basketball coaches with the aim of competing in local leagues.
Our goal is to get our youth to participate in organised sporting activities at club level and basketball has become a favourite sport within the young people of our community. This in turn will encourage our youth to maintain a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle through playing sports with a hope that they will continue to pursue recreational sporting activities as an adult.
Although the majority of our players are of Filipino backgrounds, we encourage & play with anyone who share our love and enthusiasm for BALLING!!
Why and What's a Tamaraw?
Tamaraws was chosen as a team name to give clear link with the Philippines. Although it is generally considered by most Filipinos that the national animal of the Philippines is the 'Carabao', the 'Tamaraw' is also considered as a national symbol of the Philippines.
