About PCYBA.

Philippine Centre Youth Basketball Academy (PCYBA) was established on January 13th 2008.  It is a youth project by a registered charity organisation called The Philippine Centre, and it is aimed at boys and girls ages between 7-18 years old.  The activities involves a weekly basketball coaching session by a qualified level 2 basketball coach with the aim of competing in a Local League.

Our goal is to get our youth to participate in an organised sporting activities at club level and basketball happens to be a favourite sport within our young community. Which in turn will encourage our youth to maintain a healthy, balanced and active lifestyle through playing sports with a hope that they will continue to p
ursue recreational sporting activities as an adult.


Why and What's a Tamaraw?

Tamaraws was chosen as a team name to give clear link with the Philippines.  Although it is generally considered by most Filipinos that the national animal of the Philippines is the 'Carabao', the 'Tamaraw' is also considered as a national symbol of the Philippines.
